Davis - thanks for sharing these quotes, I wholehearted agree with the sentiments expressed! Regarding this weeks reading, some comments on Rom 12:1.
This familiar scripture reminds me that I won’t be able to test and approve what is God’s will if I am conformed to this present world. Satan is pleased when Christians fall prey to the lures of this world – his job is much easier. The transformational process of renewing our mind is a daily struggle to put aside the desires of this world and seek out and cling to what has eternal value. If I am able to see the world as God sees it, I can more clearly discern His will for my life. Recognizing God’s presence in my life every moment of every day helps me to have this perspective, as does reading and meditating on His word.

The first Leviticus night is now history. It really is easier -- and more interesting -- to read it together. Join us next Thursday (Feb. 16) for part two.

Just finished Genesis! I have always loved the story of Joseph and how God takes something that was meant for evil and turns it into something good. I can relate! His Grace still amazes me. Isn't that a title of a song?

Maria: I also needed this sermon. Just the night before we had met with some friends and talked about my own worry for the future. I had forgotten what the sermon was going to be on, and just chuckled when Pastor started off on Sunday. God is so good to us.

The message today spoke to me so clearly and was just what I needed to hear this morning. I especially was glad for the reminder of not worrying but having the right focus. When I am focusing on God and how He has been with me in the past and I am reminded how he is with me now to it gives me peace and hope .
